After a couple months of steamy showers, wallpaper ( that i didn't know was there) started peeling off the walls. It turned out, the previous owners had wallpapered several times and painted over it. I spent weeks removing the wallpaper and taking the paneling off. Unfortunately what was left was absolutely horrible. Much of the drywall peeled off and it was totally uneven. I thought i was going to need completely new drywall, which was out of my price range.
